German Cross in Gold - Sort of...

Here is my newest cross...from a newspaper ad find.

Hey, at least the enamel only shows light wear! Also, the cheapest cross in my collection. (it was free)

Anyone care to guess as to the maker. Could be any of the four rivet variations, I guess.

Calvin, I think this is from a DkiS...might as well go for the greater value!!


It is interesting however, what the 'guys' back then would bring home....I suspect that as many 'bits and pieces' were brought home as were whole items!

Seriously though when we consider the 'cut' insignia and all of the other bits with the 'swaz' that were dragged home...how many super rare items were ruined ( to a degree )...consider even the stock cut 'duffel bag' K98k!

if you can put a photo of the front, maybe I can say from wich maker is it, I think from early Deschler, maybe can be as said Richard 1o rivets but in that position is hard.

No, I don't think the glue is from original time, maybe put after for not come out the svaz.

Yes, the glue is certainly post-war. It was most likely added to help affix the swaz as only one pin remains.
