Hello Ann,

Thanks for the pocket edition Saturday evening post, I enjoy reading them.

There isn't much to say about things here, it's all over with except in small cases(SS men) and they don't last long.

I'm with the 7th Army and at present near the Austrian Border, Salzburg is the nearest large town it's about 15 miles from here. This is the Bavarian Alps country, they caught Goring about 20 miles from here.

Cool stuff As clarification, was the DKiG the actual award piece for the formal document (i.e., was the DKiG sent along with the letter?

The DK is a gold one, a souvenir sent home, the document is for a silver award, I am sure the vet just matched up the picture, a neat piece of history,

The vet wrote his sisters name in the recipient space, says who knows where he is, pionting to OK d Heers spot and signed it as a GFM

Thanks for share this documente and translate the letter. I have question, on the back of award documente in the upper right there is something that look like a staple... Is the DK staped or sew to the document??
