first of all, nobody accused you for damaging the ribbon or "marrying" these two pieces together. Fact is, the ribbon was undamaged, now it is damaged. We don't even know how the ribbon was damaged - intentionally or by accident? I tend to accident, because nobody in his right mind would cut the ribbon that way. There is no reason for it - and if intentionally cut, wouldn't you cut it in the middle?

Concerning information - actually you asked for:

You must have misunderstood my first PM, that there was only the ribbon sold and there was no IC II attached to it. In my second PM I explained again that there was only the ribbon obtained from the KC winner, and no cross of any kind. You never asked for info on the KC winner who originally owned the ribbon, you asked for info about the cross. To my second PM you never replied.

Concerning your converted IC II. Actually we don't know if it was converted before 1945 or after 1945. Unless you have photographic prove you will never know. So don't condemn your cross. There is still value in the cross and the ribbon. The name of the KC winner who owned this ribbon I will send you by PM.

I'm sorry if you felt, that I accused you. That was not my intention. It's not so easy to explain complicated things in a foreign language.

Frank i think the ribbon was "cut" when you hold it in your hand it's plain to see and again...why? it's a shame,and i didn't feel you were accusing me..i apologize im fairly new to this and its i was happy for all the information you gave me...good or bad...but i like the peice and im going to keep it....thanks again Frank...

He was selling fake up KC to collectors in Australia back 10 years ago
I remember he had a IC done up as a KC on a uniform display.
