Field made Knights cross

I know there's alot of talk about the authenticity of these sort of cross's with out some sort of proof such as photo's but someone went to a bit of trouble with this one even using a knights ribbon folded in half i've put it under a black light and it didn't glow.....????...who knows...????

Authenticity is tough to tell with a converted EK2, however the ribbon looks good as does the RK loop. I would have it in my collection as a conversation piece if the price were right. -Ger

How about a closer photo of it, particularly where the suspension loop (or is it jump ring, too early in the morning...) is attached to the 12 o'clock arm?

Looks very nice to me- the ribbon hooks look period as they are flattened on the top. I would suggest that with the ribbon being shorter on one side and the loop actually going through the ribbon that this was done so that the cross could be worn with the collar unbuttoned in hot climates- a practice rarely seen in wartime photos but that was certainly done.
There is a very well known colour picture of a young grenadier with his platoon in Russia wearing his RK hooked on one side with his collar open

I already PM'ed the thread starter a couple of days ago that I sold this exact KC ribbon 2 or 3 years ago to Australia. Apparently he lost interest in this thread after he heard my news.

This ribbon was originally obtained directly from the KC winner in the 1980ies without any IC or KC attached - it was just the ribbon. I submitted the RK winner name to the buyer when the ribbon was sold.

This KC ribbon has no connection to this converted IC II at all. Someone in Australia must have joined these two pieces. And this someone must be an idiot since he poked the ribbon ring through the ribbon.

Many people would do really stupid things just to earn a few extra $.
And if this story is true, then this really proves it.
