As I said earlier let the crosses do the talking.

Here you can clearly see the workmanship on an early Juncker.

      Pieter,

this is an absolutely stunning piece! It always amazes me again since the core is different then the later cores (numerals). Do you have any idea about the reason or the time when Junckers decided to introduce a new core?
      Such an important piece!

Pieter; In your RK is the core loose? I can see several gaps between the beading and core which would indicate this?

Good morning all! Thanks for the comments as they are always welcome

'Eagle eye' Dez indeed spotted an anomaly which is only evident an angle and particular lighting...evident front and rear.

My assertion about quality was not meant to be an across the board suggestion that these things were in any way sloppy....however I have noticed several very minor 'areas' such as soldering, gaps, filing and buffing to be slightly lacking in attention to detail!

The L/12 crosses have a reputation for gaps and solder beginning to part in spots.

This cross is very fine and in fact stunning while cased but break out the old loup and some of these things become evident....granted there isn't much wear or softening to it which often time will bring out a 'finished' look!

Here's a close view of the lower arm and an attempt to replicate Pascal's photo angle!!

                Hi Dez,
Yes the core moves slightly, ...normal for early iron crosses.

I'm working on it...there are so many differences in the Juncker pieces, as you will be aware of.
E.g. the paint job of the core changes to....
                  Pieter.

Well thatk you Pieter! Thank heavens for DIGITAL as it would have taken a whole roll of 35mm to get just 2 shots!

I suggest we are (all) anxious for the result of your Juncker research
