Suggested 1st Book for Iron Crosses??

I know there are several books out there on Iron Crosses, but what would you guys recommend as the first reference book to get on EKs for a beginning collector?? I see a lot of maker references and subtle details in the posts here that I don't yet understand on eks. I am looking at "Iron Time" as the likely 1st book to get. Thanks, Bill

    Book

    Hi Bill,

One of the best out there in my opinion is "The Iron Cross First Class" (has pictures of each cross plus description) by George Stimson and Dietrich Maerz, plus they are working on a Second Class book. Jim

I also echo that. It's a great book with a miriad of details on each maker's cross.

I am not much of an EK collector, but the book mentioned is just a MUST!
