He Was Proud Of It That Day!

In the scheme of things, a 2nd Class War Service Cross with Swords is not a very prestigious medal, but to this officer who earned the medal, it was very important on the day of award..........

          I like it!

Probably a stupid question, but could a recipient of a KVKII wear the ribbon on his tunic as with an EKII, I can't recall if I have seen it?

            Yes

Yes I think soo... sometimes you also see the eastfront medal ribbon.

Well I think many German soldier where happy to get any award... Even many earned the KVKII many soldiers did not get a single award or very few. Some first earned it after years of wartime service.

I think a soldier could be proud of this award

Yes he has a serious face, it could be he lost some comrades the day he earned the medal, and in the same second this photo is taken he remember his friends.

                      Who knows..
