    Brass Core EK1 opinions

Hello all! This is my first and only EK1 (yet!) I'm looking for your opinions on it since I'm a bit of a rookie in detecting the fakes.. I've had it for 5 or 6 years and have never questioned it, When holding it it seems legit, but with the many fakes around who knows.. Since I don't wan't fakes in my collection help me rule this one out as one of them!

And if anyone has a possible maker in mind please share

The core is not magnetic, so its all brass and not a brass coating..
The catch can only be opened up to the point as shown on the picture taken of the fitting, is that a problem?

Hope the pics are enough, but if you need anything else just say so.

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Sincerely Morten Hansen

            Hi Nick, thanks!

Do you wan't to tell how you concluded that, what to look for in a Souval, if you can? Would be nice to know in the future..

              Hi Morton

It has the classic signs of a Souval, birds feet in the corners of the beading, rounded inner corners, pin set up

Here is an interesting thread to compare

                  Hi Morten.
I can highly recomend the book "THE IRON CROSS 1 CLASS" by Dietrich Maerz and George Stimson.Trouble is these can be addictive, for years I only had one 1939 EKI(which I found out was an unmarked B H Mayer)now I have six,but I've a long way to go to beat Nick

Hi collecter, it seems like a very good investment! So it will be on it's way soon, thanks for the advice/warning
Guess, not before long more will come! That's the good thing about this hobby to the untrained eye they look so alike, but yet so different..

                      Very nice cross !
I do confirm, "THE IRON CROSS 1 CLASS" by Dietrich Maerz and George Stimson is the bible and the investment to make for anyone who wants to collect EKs.
                      Cheers,
