    mint heavy DKiG

    Hi,

    I am posting those pics on behalf of member DKig.

    Its a mint heavy DKiG zimmermann in the rare early case (mushroom button style).

    This came from an estate of a Gebirgsjager (Jager Rgt 49) who worn this privately purchased item for one day at his wedding.

            Hi All,

            As promised weeks ago, today I am asking my very good friend Mr.Martin to post my collaphaned stone mint Heavy Zimmermann in early luxury case of issue with a reliable provenance. The cross is weighted 66g, a very good feeling at hands. The case of Type I in Dietrich's book is weighted 92g with the height of 32.5mm (also very rare to find this kiind of the case, we often encounter with the case of muschroom bottem is of the height of 27mm).

            It is my first saw on early Heavy Zimmermann in such a fantastic condition in the duration of 5 years' of my DKiG researching.

            The cross is coming from a family dig, a medal grouping inclusive of his EKII, EKI, IAB as well as his DK, EKI in 57' version.

            The recipient was Hauptmann from the "Iron Cross Division" (28. Infantry/Jaeger Division), he ended his service in the rank of Major, a battalion fuhrer in Jaeger Regiment 49. Fortunately he survived from the war and continued his military service in the Bundeswehr. There are 2 postwar fotos attached to the grouping, showing him mourning for the cemetery somewhere in Breslau, where I think he and his soldiers were bleeding their bloods for their bravery and royalty and, you can see the engraving "Unseren Toten, Jaeger Regiment 49" in the gravestone. (of note the headquarter of 28. inf.div. was in Breslau)
            Sorry, the fotos i did scan them, but they are left in the office. So i can't ask Martin to post.

            The family says the cross was only worn at his wedding celemony, so the condition remains minty.
            And his documents should be there, and they try to look for them. I am looking forward to seeing that.
