    Japanese EK1

Okay, this has been offered to me. These are the best scans they will send. It comes in an LDO box, which I am sure isn't original to the cross since these were supposedly made in Japan. I understand that these were individually made and are ALWAYS silver and one piece...

I don't like the look of the tarnish, looks like acid to me ... Any advice gratefully received.

The quality seems lacking to me.....but i havent ever found one in any vets estate yet to compare ....Not saying they never made any for their allies as an option through a japanese medals manufacturer, so personally I wouldnt trust a no provenance cross like that, unless it had a no hassle lifetime guarantee in writing. What does the charachters say exactly....does anyone know??

I found some discussion on these characters. They are in an older language called Kanji and it means TSUTSUMI, the name of manufacturer....

Hmmm, they want to much to gamble on it...

Apparently parts of the cross are magnetic

Anthony, if it is magnetic, then better forget it.
If I recall well the Japanese ek were made in one piece from solid silver.

If I was going to sell such a rare item I would provide better pics, I don't like this at all....

                best regards,
                ben

Thanks Ben, that is what I am thinking too. Plus, if it was a custom made item the jeweler would damn well make sure the stamp was complete and a hard strike... Thanks for the corroboration...

IMO the Japanese would have done a much better work, if this was a wartime piece.

                        I agree.
Most likely this is from Japoland....

I have to agree with some of the others here...if you had a really rare items such as this you would invest in some top notch photos to help you max out its value. These are not it.

                            Ben...love the " japoland ' line....very funny.

                            Cheers,

                            Glen
