Interesting thread you guys have here , in the last Orden und Ehrenzeichen Magazin number 19 ( from the BDOS ) there is a little article concerning these round 3 ek's.

IN this article they devide these round 3 's into 3 distinct types, the good lookers have noticed already 2 in the scan posted by m.Schroeder ( comparing with CD 's piece )

Type I : can be recongnized on the not plane core of the cross
( see CD's cross !!! )

Type II : this type has a smooth core and the width of the outer cross arm ( the silver rimm !! ) is about 5.0 mm wide

Type III : this is exactly as type 2 ( smooth arms ) but the only difference is that the silver rimm is here about 4.5 mm wide.

Does anyone own a round 3 with a brass core?
What's the weight of the round 3 crosses?

I got one of these today, I had one before but lost the pictures in a computercrash (sloppy, I know).

The cross is very chunky, it weighs 27.1 gr.
Height is 45 mm, width is 45.2 mm
Numbers on front and back (date) are 4mm heigh.
The thickness of the rim is 5mm.

Anyone seen copies of the style before ( I learned to hate to be the first one with the latest copies in my collection).

Seems that there are three types of the round threes in existance - the thing that I have noticed on all of these is the Junker style # on the lower left inner corner of the beading - it seems to appear on the same location of the reverse. So it would be safe to assume (hate that word) that the frames are of a consistent manufacture - yet the cores seem to change- I had noticed the steped swastika on Detlevs site recently as well. Which set my mind on the originality. So the plot thickens?
