Anything classified as a 'variant' usually comes with an inflated price tag.

In most cases, this is fair enough..

Except - alas - in the case of rounder RK's..

The piece shown here by Biro does display the characteristics of a Souval EK2.<O</O

Its those outer corners on the cross posted by Biro, that makes me think so. They look to be "clutching".

                        Cheers.

                          Hi Fellows,
Why is the 1813 so far to the right that it almost touches the frame? Loose core? If so how much play is in a frame that it could move that much?
                          Thanks, Sal

the pic of the EK2 I posted does have a loose core, that's why the 1813 is that far over ...it moves back enough the other way to properly align itself... is this possibly one of the early EK's that i read about in Gordon Williamsons book?..its an unmarked Katz and Deyhle(MM60)..it came to me in the original packet directly from the sister of the vet who earned it(she is a close friend of my grandmother) I also have the ribbon packet...this medal was awarded to Hans Jochen Wasmund
