    Hi Peter,

    Try my thread EKII Deumer Pair - 1939 and 1957 and you will see my 1957 EKII by 'Deumer' with a '3' on the ring and die flaws.

    I also have another early EKII which I will post pictures after the weekend if you are interested together with a cased 1957 EK1.

    Regards ...

              Date is very flat and difficult to capture. My battery is running low...not much time!

                    Here's the reverse as requested. Notice that the hinge has pleen placed off center. I would assume from the parts and the wear it was an earlier example.

                    Hope this helps,Peter!

                        Hi,

                        4 crosses, all with steel (magnetic) cores;

                        top left - great detail, maker unknown to me, more typical 57 hinge/pin/catch.

                        top right - Deumer L/11 marked example - flatback. From an Oakleaves Generals estate (along with his 57 RK, an EK2, and a 57 RK/EK1/EK2 minicombo).

                        bottom left - unmarked Deumer factory vaulted screwback. I don't recall seeing another like it and I've heard/read some very experienced EK collectors say this type was never made - obviously not true!

                        bottom right - unmarked Deumer factory vaulted pinback.

                        Regards
                        Mike K
