800 marked Spanish Cross in silver?

Were the Spanish Crosses marked 800 the ones actually awarded by the military for service in Spain? If this was the case, would a silver B&NL or CEJ not marked 800 be a private purchase? Thanks Steve Short

The majority of all silver Spanish Crosses were produced in 900 fine silver, but the Steinhauer und Luck was marked L/16 was produced in 835. A few by Paul Meybauer were produced in 800 and 900 fine silber according to Nimmergut.

Manion's currently are offering a Spanish Cross in Silver WITHOUT Swords which is marked '800' if anyone is interested, no bids, so probably a 'duffer'
