Not My Point At All Rick
I got that doing a ten min search , i have seen many different types of this carton , the one posted i have seen similar , and was a repro , but the burning question you guys want to be asking yourselfs is , if the cross was a1 , why so many arguments , and why havent i bought it?......... i dont have a 26..yet? , i could be wrong , but i dont like it sorry , just my opinion .

Barts carton looks fine, see the construction inside of the two parts meeting, I like that.
The colour of the inside, the rough edge colour and a couple of other points.(you have to careful as they are aged and stained inside by some naughty people)
To spot these when not able to look inside, view the side maker name the spacing is incorrect and to a degree the typeset, the letters look to skinny.
Thats just the basic's in my novice theory ! If it is fake I'd be very surprised.
(makers name is the one to look out for on these, when no view inside or open)

The 26 from the e stand ? Uumm I like Bart's carton and I haven't looked at the box. I'm clueless on the cross, I can't give a straight answer on that......I'd go with the expertise on here and then see if the wife would allow me to buy it
, I wouldn't buy anything I was unsure of.
Of the two 26 fake cartons I've seen they look like Neil Howes example, I've also held that very one too.

I,ll just throw my hat into the ring , i agree with Rick that the case probably was added at a later date and isn't a typical square button case for this cross, i,m quite happy with the cross itself . As for the carton i did not like it at first but on comparing it to my fake carton which is like the one pictured and is a lot paler and rougher inside i am leaning more to the fact that it is ok , although i haven't examined the wording too closely

Yes, my carton came from Detlev. There was a query on the forum about them (not from myself) & I received an immediate unsolicited refund from him.
So I keep it for reference as in cases like this.
Still hold the opinion that Bart's carton is good, as per Rick's, Marcus' (who both have/had originals) comments.
