      George-
Just given the price I would think it highly likely a fake, but cannot tell easily, as I am inexperienced. I have heard that the vast majority of these with the attached ties are fakes. It says it does not glow under UV, but the weave looks a little different. What specifically leads you to conclude this is a fake.

        Tom, stay away from it.
That seller has listed some spurious items on ebay in the past, and he's offered the exact ribbon at least 3 times in the past few weeks.

Tom everyone is right on this one and particularly percipient is Roy...this has been on Ebay for several months!!

The obvious reason it is bad is the reinforcing thread running along the edges and showing white....this is typically seen in '57 sets. Later on a different weave was used still using the edge reinforcement but with black thread.

I don't know about the ribbon, but all of the WW1 U.S. wings this seller is offering appear to be fake. I have seen a number of Imperial pilot badges from him that are just as fake as can be. So, you can see what conclusion I'm leading to here....

One day, Dave WILL slip up - but until then, you can see a similar white stitching on the cased '57 KC ribbon on Blitz's (Antti's) big 'reveal'... Oh my God! What are these?

Idealy the ribbon edge should look like the following....

Just a thought, but is the small ribbon the type used to make EKII ribbon bars?

Was this a common use of EKII ribbon bar?

                        Regards ...
