Schinkel EK1 by Deumer Repair or leave alone???

HI Follks,

Ive had this one for while now and on the fence about repairing it.

IT is missing the latch hook.

Are there any forum members that do this kind or repair? Or recommend someone that had produced good results??

Its a pretty rare EK1 and though it willl always be noted as "repaired" I think it will look better.

Repair or leave alone?

As you can see it looks like it was repaired in the past and the catch still broke off.

Hard to say.
It lost value because of the hook, but if it have been repaired before, I don't think it will work.

there is someone here on WAF that does repair stuff, I think he is from the UK .
But I really don't recall who it is....

If it was mine, I would leave it alone.

But I guess that most gold smith could "fold" a new catch and solder it back on really nicely.

It would actually be a very easy and quick repair. If you don't have anyone who can fix it I do.

Put it this way ... if you were buy this what would you want? As is or one that someone has repaired recently?

Personally I would take the former. I say leave it alone. Why repair it? No ones going to wear it are they?
