              Cool!

              Gordon,

              Those adverts are great!

Just curious...do you have any period price lists for private purchase items?

Anyone else have any period advertisments? Please share a few scans.

                Calvin,

Yes, if it was available for sale, I have its price, plus the price of the relevant case/packet etc. The list is to big to scan but name a few awards and I'll give you the retail price of the "private purchase" version.

                  Hello Gordon,

I was curious about the prices of the Iron Cross series...EK1, EK2, Spange First Class, Second Class, etc.

This may be a stupid question...were DKs and RKs avail. for private purchase?

Is there a way to correlate war time prices to today's currency?

                  Thanks,

                  Calvin

                    Calvin,
                    Wholsesale / Retail
                    EK2 with case RM2.62 / RM3.80
                    EK2 in Paper Packet RM2.14 / RM3.10

                    EK1 with case RM3.64 / RM5.25
                    EK1 in paper packet RM2.94 / RM4.25
                    EK1 Screwback in case RM4.28 / RM6.20
                    Ek1 Screwback in paper packet RM3.58 / RM5.20

                    EK2 Spange in card box RM0.51 / RM0.80
                    EK2 Spange in paper packet RM0.37 / RM0.60

                    EK1 Spange pinback in case RM1.55/ RM2.25
                    EK1 Spange in paper packet RM0.86 / RM1.25
                    EK1 Spange Screwback in case RM2.19 / RM3.15
                    EK1 Spange Screwback in paper RM1.50 / RM2.15

Retail sale of DKs was never permitted. Retail sale of RK went on until mid 1941 after which it was forbidden. Steinhauer & Luck price for an RK was RM34.50 with Oakleaves at RM13.50.

S&L 1940 (pre LDO) price for an EK1 was RM7, so the price controls brought in by the LDO resuted in quite a lowering of prices.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing the advertisements. I noticed that Souval is the only one to give their L number. Do you suppose thats because they were located outside greater Germany?
