    Opinions on Two Spanges

Recently aquired these two spanges. I would appreciate your opinions on these. I took photos in two different lights to try to capture all of the detail.

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

The 2nd spange is an original Zeimer & Sohne. The 1st spange has been discussed in detail, and the opinions are mixed, with the greater part leaning toward fake.

#1 I've never seen before so I would automatically be suspicious, just me. Anyway, no comment on the first.

#2 is a Zeimer as Robert has stated. I believe there are two versions of this maker, thick & thin.

I'm curious to see what the weiderholungsspange truppe have to say regarding the first piece.

Jonathan, you're welcome. I hope that #1 turns out to be good but if not, can you return it for a refund if need be?

I agree. I suspect the first one is an "old" fake -- 1970s, maybe. It also has its supporters, and I think the book is still open on that one, if only just a bit.

                  Chris,

It was purchased on the E-stand and I just received it yesterday so I should be able to. I had my doubts about it when seeing it in hand but wanted to see what everyone else thought. It seems like alot of people feel that it is a fake.

                  Thanks,

                  Jonathan

Interesting, the old/new thread. This spange is like the forbidden fruit, I want to take a bite but a higher power is telling me NO.
