I am by no means an expert on cases or RKs. However, given the thread above about cases, would you mind checking a few things and posting? Does the white material glow under uv light? Do you feel "bumps" along the margins of the hinge that feel like wires (there should be about four above and below)? How much does the case weigh? Does the padding behind the satin feel "lumpy"? I think these things may help the experts on cases and contribute to the other case thread. Thanks

                  Tom,

I checked some of the points you mention.
Weight is less 100g, I can't use UV
The satin is more lumpy than the ones I can compare (1957 case and repro from Muller militaria)
There are 4 bumps (above and below) the margin of the hinge.

I checked several posts on the forum about the subject, but an expert can spot the bad or good point.

That looks similar to a poor fake made here in the UK, I'm sure the more conversed will be able to give you more expert opinion's so don't take this as gospel.......this is just my opinion.

I'm not overly keen on the paper covering, nor the incuse scored line it's a little 'off' and too far in for my liking.

The inner lid part has the traits of the repro EK 2 and RK boxes of this style, lumpy sometimes lose at the corners and the stuffing, padding feels very hard. Forget the online dealer fakes, Soldat etc There are many many more fakes out there, but it is an idea to check those sites I guess,

There are other little pointers that would make me sound like more of a fool should it be genuine, concerning the rayon strip and material, paper cut etc.

I'm not keen at all, but I'll sit back and learn from my peers. You can guess my feelings, but I really don't know.

                    Kind regards,

                    Marcus

                      Marcus,

you're right about this. I posted (in the RK case thread) some Xrays of the hinge and it is wrong too. The paper is very different from the original K&Q case I have.
                      Thanks
