    Golden EK2

Today I got this golden EK2 mm 100.
The front of the cross is almost golden in the frame but the back of the cross is white / silver.

Does anyone have seen this before?

    Regards Thomas.

    Best regards Thomas.

              sunlight

Maybe it was displayed in a frame close to direct sunlight for a few years?

I have a '65' with a similar golden hue, I put it down to the storage conditions prior to it arriving with me and thought it could possibly be caused by nicotine.

Nice Cross but It has nothing to do with "Golden"

Absolutely....Nicotine patina. It coated all the metal fittings of the first SA dagger that I ever owned. I spent two hours cleaning it off of the dagger. I have some regrets now about having done so, but in my mind, I justify it by thinking that, if it's THAT harmful to one's lungs, it can't be good for daggers, either....

Being an x smoker of 30 years, nicotine is colorless and odorless, or so I’m told. The brown or gold color you’re talking about is the tar from the burning tobacco that gets on and in everything around it.

Granted.....but it's commonly referred to as "nicotine patina", on objects, just as it's referred to as "nicotine stain" on a smoker's fingers...

                              That's a very nice "100"! Think of it as a "2-tone EK2"
