    Question about EK1 screwback disks

Are all of the disks used on EK1 screwbacks the same? I have an L/10 screwback and the disk is stamped but I've never seen or heard of any other ones that are marked. Did they all come from the same supplier? Can't image the manufacturers each made them.. Thanks!

A few makers had distinct screwback disks, notably Wiedmann and Souval. I've noticed a few different types here and there, but never done an exhaustive study. Ben has an L/10 stamped SB disk as well. Pretty sure the '51' stamped disk is a postwar fake.
      Best regards,

Trevor is right that 51 is NG! These disks had many differences, one piece being the common find, Souval marked thier disks L/58 and not the cross!
Do Yourself a search here in the cross forum using the keyword screwback and read on.....
            Kevin
Edit... 51 was not a maker of EKI's, or EKII's for that matter, If You have a disk marked 51 it is a fake or perhaps for a different badge so don't throw it out without discussion! May be for another screwback award but doubtful!
Edit #2 OOOPPS! Souval marked the disks L58 and not L/58! Thanks to My friend Stu W. for quickly PMing me with this correction!!!!!!! Thanks Stu!

              Cheers,

Here's photo of an L/21 disk. Is this a fake? I don't see it listed in the WA database

                  Disc

Yes, L/21 is another fake. I understand that there two types of threads used for the screw - thin and thick. Jim

Yes, Sorry Aus! Can You show the L/10 cross the screwplate is on in the photo? Interested in the scribe mark and hole seen on the cross? Possible hinge alignment mark?

Well, I only posted a photo of the L/21, is that the one you mean? If so, here it is. This is on US ebay at the moment. If you want the L/10 I can post that too, that one IS mine...

The L/21 is a fake, as stated. Floch I think. Who knows if the cross it's attached to is good? Might be.
                        Best regards,
