    New glue vs old glue

    Hi everyone,

A few threads back, there was a discussion on a cased KVK2. In determining the authenticity of the case, a blacklight was used to determine whether the case was a reproduction. Does new glue and old glue glow differently? I tried a blacklight on one of my cases and I wouldn't say it glowed (like a piece of cotton) but it appeared subdued in comparison. Is that good? Can someone help me on this?

    Thanks
    Tony

Old glue shouldn't glow in my experience. I have a lovely case, glue was still tacky when I got it for inspection, it glowed but it was subdued. The one I saw was NOT good, more than a glue glow would be necessary for yours to determine...

Thanks Brian. The case is very much like the one posted on the cased KVK2 thread. Brown leather case with maroon interior. I'll send you a few pics, if you don't mind.
