    1st pattern 2nd class Spange

    Hi,

i had this spange for a few years and just "found" it again in my "junk trunk".

During the past i heard good and bad comments about it. My own opinion is, that the claps is a good one.....

        Hi Jon,

i see why you think it's cast, will check it tomorrow in natural light.

I got around 6 years ago from a collector, so no story with it.

Back with 2 new pics in sunlight today. After a very close examination i don't think it's cast. The badge shows intensive hand finishing. Hope the pics did capture the patina and silver frosting....

still looks a little strange to me
sort of looks like a Maybauer, but different wings and things. Seems also a bit 'new', made from the same stuff that the repro early junckers are made of...
              the prongs are strange also
I'd like to have it in my hands, sorry I can't be 100%
              any more opinions anyone?
              regards

                This really looks strange.
Based on these pictuers, I do not like it.
