ek2 with letter and envelope - opinion

Hi everyone, with great respect for the expertise here, i ask for the opinion on this EK2 set.

I'm about to make the purchase of this cross, and since its would be my first acquisition i defer to your judgment.

The link to the sellers images of the cross can be seen here:
(if this is forbidden i apologize in advance.)

    http://www.aukcjoner.pl/gallery/0012...KOPERTA-!.html

From reading through the forum, i've come to the conclusion that the unmarked cross, if real, is a W&L, given that it shares a lot of the traits discussed here:
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ight=ek2+w%26l

the envelope is marked "Carl Forster &Graf , Schwab. Gmund", and appears to be genuine.

i'm wondering what your expert eyes see?

I tried to follow the crumbs of the information provided on the letter, namely the seal appears to say "luftgaukommando"...with a 31 at the botom and a V or I after
the luftgaukommando. I couldn't identify any relevant information about the unit of the army this individual served in. it all seems pretty generic..anyone recognize the signature?

    Best regards,

You're correct about the maker being W&L, a very nice cross. The packet, on the other hand, is a 'filler' to up the price of the cross. These packets have been tossed back and forth on this forum for years, and I personally suggest you keep with just buying the cross without the packet. The packets, hundreds of them, all showed up at once, some with the LDO logo on them, others like the one shown here. See if you can get the cross without the packet.

      thanks!

      Hi Robert,
I appreciate you taking a look.
The price is fair enough for just the cross, but i hear what your saying about avoiding inflated costs.
      Thanks Very much Robert!
      Best Regards,
      Peter

I'm with Robert on the packet.

I'm not a document man, but I don't like this one by the looks. I guess it is a put together group. Post pics or link in the paper section of this forum.

        Good luck, Thomas

Personally I would not purchase this set even if it is just for the cross. There are plenty of W&L EK2s around that are priced reasonably without the hassle of obtaining fake documents with it or buying it from a Polish(?) auction site. Look on the estand, there are plenty of good deals to be had.

I agree. I'd be interested in the documents sub-forum opinion of this one.
            Best regards,
