EK1 with maker mark "L/11" with pos. lines !

    Hello ;-)

I like to show this Deumer EK1 with - I think - position lines above the maker mark! Is this usual? The cross is - I think - hand vaulted. Is there any maker which produced vaulted EK1? The only mistake are traces of rework at the hinge of the pin system, but I think it is still very nice ;-) What is your opinion?

Nice cross Those sure do look to be positioning marks for the jeweler. I have an EK1 that has slots cut in the backplate to place the hardware.

Positions lines can be found on some EK1 pin back crosses and short placement marks for screwback crosses . Some of these lines are short and others go across the entire back , like some Godet/Zimmermann crosses . One does find the odd Ek1 that originaly was intended to become a screwback but then for some reason ended up as a pin back instead ... with the center mark for the thread mount and hole for the anti rotation pin .
Rettenmaier made vaulted crosses .... and looks like that one was attempted by hand .
