    Help with RK

Is this RK any good ('57)? The seller says the suspension loop is marked with 800. It has a buy now-price on ca. $230

Too blurry from the pictures to tell much but it looks like a fairly recent S&L that has been beaten up and aged to jack up the price. The ribbon is certainly very modern and looks like it would glow under blacklight.

For the price I wouldn’t bother, save your money and for a little more you could get a nice cased earlier example.

It's likely that anyone who was entitled (with the exception of very few) to own a Knight's Cross was sought out or otherwise chased this award in the 10 years between '57-67...there after the collector market took over and the 'crap' medals were produced.
Really, to own a '57 cross I'd buy only the very early 'first pattern' S&L without flaws and with the workmanship a RTK deserved...
