EK1's WWl & ll Opinions please...

Have found these for sale locally. If the pics are good enough, can anyone
give me yea or nay on originality ? Top screwback is marked on cross only L54, bottom screwback marked on screw device only L58 and is missing it's anti spin pin. No other mm but bottom left has faint box corner of the mm die square framing, but can't make out anymore than what looks like a failed attempt by the stamper. Thanks, John

Regarding the 1939 EK's, the left and center crosses are original Souvals. The cross to the right, the 1939 again, I would say is original, although I cannot be certain of the maker - perhaps an S&L.

edit: "perhaps an S&L",...or a Deumer.

I agree with Robert, But the right cross looks like it could be a Deumer.
But better pictures are defenately needed.

Based on what I see and on these bad pictures I think I would pay a max. of 700 for these six crosses.
They are very common and not in the best condition. But maybe some other will pay more.

But I would try to get some better pictures first and although they look good to me, I would post the upper middle and upper right cross in the imperial section to be sure if those are original.

Top right 1914 EK1 is a fake. All others are genuine. Top left screwback is of course TR period. The top middle 1914 EK1 is probably 20s or, more likely 30s produced.

                Regards
                Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
