    EK2 Schinkel "Intermixed"? Opinions Please!

    Hello EK people,

I have my eye on this EK2. I have a suspicion it is a rare "Schinkel Intermixed" (thanks, Daniel). Specifically, the top of the "3" in the date looks a bit wavy.

Is it possible to tell from these photos? I think they are the only ones I will be able to get.

    Opinions please.

    ~ Thanks in advance! Trevor

Here is the one I think it resembles, but I can't be sure.

If you can't be sure and you can't get as many photos as you like, then you should probably pass on the item (Just MHO).

I can't agree more. Based on these pictures I am not sure.
And if it is a halb Schinkel, don't forget that these are harder to sell than a regular Schinkel designed EK when the time is there.

          Thank you George and Luud,

I have requested additional straight-on photos or scans. We'll see what happens. If I get 'em, I'll post here for review.

Is that because they are not yet widely recognized as a rare variant? Or because their identification as a Schinkel in disputed?

          Best,

Value is what people want to pay for it.
I only know some variant collectors that want these, but most EK collectors that want only one or two Schinkels, choose for the variant as Deumer and Meybauer (wich is IMO much more beautifull too).

The advantage of these halb Schinkels is that you can buy them for prices of a regular unmarked ek because most people do not recognize them.
You only have to keep your eyes wide open.

Well, here is the exact image I got when I asked for something straight-on to help with identification .

I also got a laconic note: "I have someone else interested so I need to know if you want the item."

              I passed. Thank you guys.

Hi Trevor, you did right in passing on that one. The Swaz is too big and the inner corners not sharp enough to be a Halb, Intermixed or Intermediate Schinkel in my opinion. The one Daniel posted and you linked too is mine now Will post pics when it arrives.

(Edit: Weitze has got one but in bad condition and expensive.)

                    LuckyCaarl, then.
I've seen Weitze's. I believe I am going to hold out for one sold as a regular old EK2. I think with a little patience I'll stumble across one.
Looking forward to the photos of yours.
