    EKII Spange

Hey all. Just got my first Spange. Wanted to show some pics of it, but also had a question.

As you can see the top left prong (as you look on the reverse) is broken off. The seller was kind enough to send the prong with the Spange. Is it worth a (high quality) repair? Will the repair diminish the value/historical quality? I dont personally mind pieces with bumps and bruises, I like the historical character it gives, much like a nice patina with an EK. On the other hand I can completly see why getting the 4th prong back on would be nice as well. Just loking for opinions/ideas I guess. Please feel free to comment!

Nice, authentic spange, I'd leave the prong as is.
This style is always unmarked, and I used to call it 'Big Eye' until I worked out it was made by Ziemer&Sohne
missing prongs don't worry me, the history is still there

Way to go Ryan! That's a real nice piece you picked up!

I'm with Jon. Leave it as is. The story it's telling is worth listening to just as is!

        Best,

Thanks guys. I really like this piece! I knew Spanges were small but I couldn't beleive how small when I had it in hand! Needless to say, I think I have found my core collecting interest...EKs (just can't get enough of the old famous cross!) and the Spange! Only problem is they don't seem to be on the e-stand as often! I have to keep reminding myself of this little thing called patience LOL

I would also leave it untouched.

And yes, they are nice, and you just can't get enought of them
