I am no case expert by any means.
But I like the case very much and think it's very rare.

I am not sure if this inlet was used for the ek2.
Maybe it was. But I think it was an early universal case for private purchases

I have the same case as the one you have with a different inlets .
Mine is bleu and has a different lay-out. And a bleu ribbon on the upper inlet.
I haven't got better pictures, but I made some pictures from the cross when it was in the case.
I think you will get the idea if you look at post 16.

Personally I believe it to be a WW1 EK2 case.

            Thanks to all who contributed.

The case has been identified as possibly early war period private purchase.

Identified by who? And if it's "possibly" early war private purchase, there's just as good a chance it's possibly NOT.

I can't help in the i.d., but mostly nothing has been proven here except perhaps it was produced somewhere between about 1915 and 1940....

Just my (perhaps unwanted) 2 cents.

              best
              Hank

Wouldn't this discussion be better in the cases and packets section??
I'd like to know what Marcus Hatton thinks about it.

                Regards,
                AB.

                P.S. Already there. Disregard.

And I for one am quite happy with that. I have never had any doubts whatsoever regarding this piece, but someone else did. This appears identical to the piece posted by Bob Hritz in the following thread (page 2 post #21) and who states they are extremely rare cases (post #26).

No problem - as long as seller & buyer are satisfied, that's what it's all about. No offense intended to anybody.
