Original 2/3rds EK2 ribbon?

Hi, I got this EK2 a while back and have never been sure if the ribbon is original? It's 2/3 the size of your average ribbon and looks original. What do you think?

Different width ribbons

Hi,

There were different width ribbons. Both the early Schinckelform EKII ribbon and the ribbon often used in medal bars was not as wide as the standard 30mm ribbon. How wide is the one you show?

Roughly 26-27mm, do you think it's medal bar ribbon then?

like Stu says the narrower width ribbon was used on Schinkels & for mounted medals, usually 25mm!! -Nigel

Looks OK to me...

That's the width I see used for the Schinckelform and medalbar. These narrow ribbons can also be found paired with EK having small diameter ribbon rings. I don't think there is anything to be concerned over.

Could be any one of several reasons. Not to worry. Short of it failing both the black light and burn tests I'd say it's good. I like the look of the weave.

The ribbon has the features of an original and, has been mentioned, the size used on medalbars. I've had several EKs come my way with this size ribbon and just removed it and replaced it with a standard size piece.
