    Opinions please, Round 3

    Hello friends,

Here are a few pictures of my "Round 3". In the grand scheme of things, how often does one see the placement of the iron center piece more to one side or another as opposed to being perfectly centered?

As you can see on this piece the iron center is slightly to the left of center causing the swastika to rest partially under the "9 o'clock arm".

    Thanks for your opinions,
    Vince

    It's a good, original example.
The core on an EK can sometimes move, some makers more than others. It's not that often that you find one that has moved to this extent but they do crop up occasionally.

      Thank you Adrian,

In this case do you feel the value of this rare EK is affected by the placement of its center core?

      Cheers,
      Vince

IMO it shouldn't make the slightest bit of difference.

Your Round 3 is the type known as the Swastika on a Base. Jim

            Hi Jim,

Thank you for that interesting info. Where did it come from? A reference book?

I hope Jim doesn't mind me answering this one, what he means is that the swastika appears to be sitting in a pedestal. If you look between the ends of the arms you can see a small raised edge which gives the impression the swastika is sitting on a base. It's more a collectors term rather than a technical one but it's descriptive.
