Very nice, Jody. I love the stickpins and miniatures as much as the full size awards.

Cool thread. Not exactly the RK des KvK, but neat anyway.

Aren´t these stickpins just combined KVK 1 and KVK 2 stickpins like the EK stickpins ? Shouldn´t have a RK des KVK stickpin 3 KVKs (RK des KVK, KVK 1, KVK2) ?

                      Alex,

the regulations would iondicate so. However, there are examples coming directly from Klessheim having the RK as a 16 mm button hole device and the 9 mm stickpin with a smaller 1st class and the larger RK in one nice box.
Since since is an example from the time, I tend to think that if the left KVK is bigger than the right one, it is a RK. For a 1st and 2nd. class pin both have the same size.

                      Dietrich

PS: Gordon's book about the KVK, page 196.

                        Hello Dietrich,
I love your double set with out swords. If it ever needs a new home please let me know.

As far as stickpins go, the 2nd class is also bronze colored if on a stickpin (in most cases).

                        Regards,
                        Jody

I believe we need to address Alex's questions a bit more carefully and not compare the EK-combos with the KVK-combos. In order to draw plausible conclusions from regulations, one needs to have all the available sources. Here's a thread to illustrate the nesessity not to pick out just one:

                            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=332836

The KVK's are quite logical if you ask me. If I'm not mistaken, the KVK1 could not be awarded twice, that's probably why I've never seen two silvered 9mm crosses on a combo. Should the 1st and 2nd class( regardless of swords or not) be awarded, the 1st should be silver and the 2nd most definately bronze. Hence two crosses (11m and 9mm) in silver must be RK and KVK1.

The EK is more difficult. I've seen the regulations in Doehle's 1941 edition, as well as the 1943 and 1945. The information there is in my mind not enough to draw full covered conclusions. I'm still looking for the content in the 1940 edition, in order to see if these regulations were inforced at that time. Catch ya later.

P.s Jody, I think I'll stick to this one

                            cheers
                            Peter
