    ugly catch for W&L EK1?

    Hello everyone,

This is my latest piece, a nice W&L, pretty frosty

    It is boxed

And it has an ugly catch

Is it some kind of burr of the metal? (if I use the apropriate word) Thanks for the ideas!!

The pin and hinge look like a W&L but the obverse isn't by that maker.

The EK1 is original But for me it is not a W&L --> IMO it is a S&L ;-)

Well for me the top of the pin is a bit different from an S&L At least I've not seen such a top for them

I'm waiting for other guesses too - S&L or W&L?

          Thanks,
          Balázs

            From these pictures I see a S&L EK1 with a partial W&L pin set .
Yes a very interesting S&L cross type I have been looking for and interested in .
            Done up some questions ;

I believe an S&L. The early S&L's with this type pin usually have the round wire catch, but this must have been made during the transition period from the rounds wire catch to their cut-out catch, using the old style pin.

OKay here are the answers (I'm trying to do my best but my camera is not the best, sorry for some pics!):

                The left arm lower corner:

The numbers (I had to play with the exposure and gamma correction):
The 1 seem to have the same size the other numbers have

                The swastika:
I can't see signs of rust, it has plain iron color, the core is magnetic. The swastika is low

                The anchor:
I can't really see trace of old anchor

And one more for the catch:

Thank you for all the answers! Now I'm even more interested than before
                Balázs

                EDIT:
And yes it is vaulted, though I have no idea whether it was hand vaulted or in the factory! How can I know if it's silver or nickel plated?

                  Thanks Bala'zs :
For just starting out the pictures are adiquite and show all points of interest . Some helpful hints later .
With any doubt now this shows that you have a 100% full S&L Cross as indicated by Robert . At times it is easy to misinterpret and just 'top' angle pictures are not always enough . The differences in parts between makers at times are only very minor . The 'Spring board' anchor mount that S&L used was only a guess on the top view shown picture and the reason for the request of the side picture as W&L does not use this type of anchor mount !
The pins themselves are mistakenly close and only a side by side comparison ruled out a W&L pin , as shown in the picture below .
