Just my thoughts, but packet and cross both look fake.

      Ek

I have not seen any envelope other than one stamped LII for an EKI. I have attached photos of mine. I suggest that you post this in the "Envelopes and Package forum" for review.

Thanks. And I doubted of a blue package. And how a cross?

I have put a posting in the Envelope and Case forum for you so you can get comments on the envelope. I can't write about the EK as I have only one and the pin setup on the back is different. So a search for schinkel using the search function and then you may be able to find a pin setup like yours. What is the maker mark on the pin? Jim

              J. E. Hammer & Söhne made no EK1's! so why produce an EK1 Bag? Also the bag really looks too new! I have a Hammer EKII bag, Maker mark on bag is in the usual lower left position! Also the Font in wording looks way wrong to me!
The bag sure looks fake to me! The maker mark is too boxy and fat, should be skinney top to bottom and elongated rectangle shaped....
Am bouncing to the Case and bag forum for a look!

I too doubted because of a package. Most likely it is a fake, both a package and a cross.

                  Hello,

this kind of EK1 is a well known fake in among the EK1 collectors.

                    Actually they did.
A good friend of mine has got one in his collection, will try to find the pics when I'm home again.

Just common sense: an ek1 is easier to make then an ek2.
(the cross itself I mean, not the hardware)
Although I have not " investigated" this, I presume that companies that made ek2, made ek1 as well.

Main reason that this is still open, ist that the majority of crosses had no mm.

                    Regards,
                    Ben
