    More Deschler Hoard Sets

Last year I managed to pick up one of the EK2 sets that came from the "Deschler Hoard" of unissued medals found a few years back. This hoard also contained a number of other packeted and cased medals all by Deschler and Son. Well today I managed to pick up three more complete sets from this hoard. All these medals are pretty much mint, unissued and come complete with the medal, the tissue paper the medal is wrapped in, a length of unissued ribbon, and the paper packet, which is also marked for Deschler and Son. The sets I picked up are common medals, the KVK2 with and without swords, and the Ost, or Eastern Front medal. I know these are some of the most common medals in the collecting field, but I think that these sets are very interesting and I'm pretty happy to add them to my collection. If you have to have one example of these medals, these are the ones to have.

First up is the KVK without swords.

Next up is the KVK2 with swords. Both this one and the KVK2 w/o swords are marked 1 on the ring.

I know this isn't the place for Ost medals, but this one is related so here's a couple of pics. Again, a complete set. This medal is not marked however. You can see the indent of the ring and the writing that's on the reverse of the ost medal inprinted on the tissue paper. That doesn't happen overnight.

A close up of the eastern front medal. You can see how nice these are.

Here's all three together packeted up with a few a couple of the days other pickups, an EK2 and black wound badge both marked 3. It was a good day.

                              Steve,
VERY nice!...I just got one of the KVKII's w/swords, myself, ( http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=288667) and I think I've got the KVKII w/o swords on the way.

Does your source have anymore of the Ostmedaille left?

                              Thanks,
                              Bob.
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.....
