Nice Cross Pat! What is that at the hinge end of the pin? The photo perhaps makes it look like some type of mark?
Very nice cross, And I agree with Darrell, Unless you get the cross direct from a Vet? and he can say the cross was awarded or bought LDO with the case....
No way to be sure...

You'll find Zimmermann's marked at the top of the pin, and at the center...

The mark is very close to the mark on Robert's cross. I will try to post a clearer picture of the maker's mark. That is a very nice cross Robert!

I bought this cross and WWI EK1 a few years ago from an older collector who was selling off his stuff. (The WWI cross is pictured in the Imperial section on this forum). I picked out what I thought were the nicest crosses he had according to the detail and quality of the crosses. I probably had a dozen or so to choose from but these were the only two that "spoke to me". I could have passed up some rare makers. I am sure that I passed on others in better condition but lacked quality and detail. In my opinion, the quality badges will always increase in price while the others don't sell.
