    EK1 marked "L73"

    Good day all,

I was curious as to if anyone has any images of an "L73" marked EK1 that they wouldn't mind posting.

    Thanks

    Hi James,

I suggest you do a search. Sounds like you might be asking about one of the Floch repro EK1 variant markings, which have been discussed at length in the past.

      Thanks for the reply Mike,

On looking thru previous threads as you mentioned, I now realise the EK1 I purchased on the weekend WAS too good to be true... oh well, C'est le vie

I'll post some pics later on, just to confirm those suspicions of mine

Here are the freshly-scanned images of my suspect EK1. Comments are welcome as I would like to find out if this is one of those "Floch" pieces.

        Cheers

              Hi James,

IMO, yes, it is one of the Floch repros.

I wonder if Floch made fakes with more than one core. One thing I look for in Floch fakes -- besides the telltale pin and the maker's marks, of course -- is the way the bottom loop of the "3" is more open than on most original EK 1s.

                    For example

Here's a Floch fake with no maker's mark, and it's a screwback! Look how wide open that "3" is!

Here's a fake "L11" attributed to Floch. It looks like it has a different core than the first two I posted, and more like the two posted by TG and Bill.
