I'm pretty sure that later on in the war awards were issued in a protective cellophane wrapper.
I have seen RK in cellophane wrappers, so it wouldn't surprise me if DK were too.

Yes, I have seen DKiG wrapped in celophane and in its presentation case, if I remember well, last year I see a "134" one in this condition for sale.

I agree, they came in cellophane but it is very rare to have one, because the awards give in ceremonys get away the cellophane. From Private purchases was more easy to find it again.
