My new EK2

Here's my new EK2.
I noticed that both of my EK2's had an extra loop on top of the cross.
And that most crosses i see don't have it.
Can anyone explain me what that is.
Is it due to a different manufacturer?

The extra "loop" or "hump" in the middle of the top arm where the small ring is attached is a maker's variation. Juncker crosses have it, as do those made by Rudolf Wachtler & Lange ("100"). And I have several unmarked EKs with this feature. Are yours maker-marked?

No... both are unmarked...
So only those 2 manufacturers used the "hump"?

No, those are the only two that I know of that used the hump. The EK 2s with humps I have that are unmarked are not made by either of those two firms, IMO. Also, all of the "Round 3" EK 2s I've seen have had the hump. No one knows who made them either.

Ah... some sort of a mystery then
But it's a shame that it probably will be never solved.
