    I agree Rich,

But possibly they're hidden under all the heavy paint.

For what it's worth (and I know here not much) I think the whole piece is repro.

I was hoping we didn't go there, trying to find an answer. But, this was a thought I had myself in the opening moments. The only thing I see is a cross that's been put together, possibly postwar, to make a buck. It hurts, I know, but the cross speaks 'put-together'.

here's a closeup of the date - I am certain that the heavy paint "blew" the numbers up a little, just like the swas...

That is my view too. Possibly a core and front frame from a EKII with newly made pin and catch. Hinge could be from something else or newly made too.

              The sly fox!

              Maybe a Godet 'variant'.

While we're at it - can anyone supply pix of a good 21 marked Godet from his files - prior to posting this piece, I was searching the Forum but could not find any pix on them to compare.
                Thanks a lot everybody

...how about an EK 1st class? There's not much on the topic, let's discuss it here!

                            Rainer,

I've search all of my resources for a '21' marked EKI, and found myself wanting. I might be wrong, but I don't think Godet marked any of their EKI's with the '21' stamp, at least from what I have seen anywhere at this time. I'm sorry. Someone prove me wrong, please. K.S., I'm afraid, IMO!

                              Robert,

21mmd crosses do exist, but they are very rare.

So do we have two opinions with nothing to back up either one?
I don't even know what one, if they exist, would look like....
