              That pin is a dead giveaway. Fake. Front looks like it could be 1 piece?

                I've seen KVK 1st class with swords with the same pin, i think Polish in origin.

                        Agree! The pin is not good and as it doesn´t look replaced (at least judging from these pictures) so the verdict must be "not good".

                            can you tell it is a fake from just the front pictures & how ( what too look for ) can you tell ? as i am a new collector & i am trying too learn what too look for regarding fakes

                              the pin and the hindge has been never used in this design on a temporary EK 1. You can often encounter this set up on well known fakes.
                              It also doesn't make any difference whether it is an EK1 from 1914 or 1939.
                              The same apply to the front with the bad executed date and swas.
                              Further the one piece construction who is very very rare for an EK 1 1939.
