I did a quick search of the cross and case threads for L/11 and did not find another one like this. I would be interested in your thoughts. First the exterior of the case.

The paper tag reads something like this:
Die Herstellung von Orden und Ehrenzeichen unterliegt der Kontrolle der Prasidialkanzlei. Der Hersteller ist verpflichtet, mangelhaft gelieferte Stucke gegen einwandfreien Ersatz umzutauschen.
The production of medals and decorations is subject to control of the Prasidialkanzlei. The manufacturer is obligated to exchange unsatisfactorily supplied strikes against perfect replacement.Attached Files

I don't think that's a Deumer; sure doesn't match the typical ones. Also, the back of the box appears to read:
"Bronze ohne ...." (bronze without ?)
RM 2,70 (reichsmark 2,70)
Original
best

So could be original for a war merit cross, still a nice case

When the cross is on the hangar in the box, the bottom of the cross touches the bottom. So it may very well be that the case is not for the EK2. Also, the cross inside has not been confirmed as an L/11. If the inscription is "bronze without ribbon", it could be almost anything that has a diameter smaller than a EK. Any ideas what it would have been used for is appreciated. I assume the EK2 is OK as it has been silent on this point. Am I correct that the last word on the back of the box is "original" indicating this was written and sold in Germany after the war?
