    Worn EK11

I purchased an EK11 that is very worn and almost flattened beading and the swastika. It looks as though the recipient either wore it every day and saw a lot of wear and tear or if it has possibly been used as a toy by a kid? Of course it may be that it is a fake? I cam make out the seal around the edge of the cross and it is correct in measurements. Does any one know if this is a common occurrence or give me any clues. I will provide clear photos if this is of any interest to anyone? Many thanks and any imput would be appreciated.

There are a lot of battered EK's out there, I'd be interested in some pics

                Not a problem!
Can you confirm the cross is made of three pieces? I can't see a gap between the frame and core.

stonewashed EK2 - suspicious that the paint is still there where the rest of the cross seems heavily worn and banged up....
                  Cheers

I don't like it. I suspect the reason the beading is so worn (and the corners are bent) is that it is made of some soft alloy ....

IS it soft alloy? IS it 3 pieces?
I have one that looks almost the same, it was from a POW, and was used as a keychain for about 40years! very smooth, not unlike this one...
This 'may' be a good one too
                      regards

It looks to me - from these pics - to be 1 piece. Better pictures would be necessary to say for sure.

Thanks for the comments guys. At first i thought it was a 1 piece and therefore a copy but on closer examination i can definately see a soldered joint all the way round the centre of the edge although worn in many places it almost looks like a 1 piece. I would definately say it looks like a 3 piece cross.

Are you sure you don't see some sort of a casting line?
Like some others it sure looks like a one-piece EK to me.
Base material frame and core look also the same.
