Rather strange that a cross so pristine on the obverse has this many "repairs" to the reverse

That patina sure looks wierd as well.

I do not like the back of this badge at all.
The front looks pretty convinsing though.

The front looks pristine and the back looks a bit of a mess. It looks like someone had all the pieces from the factory but not the proper tools for assembly and had to resort to some poor soldering - just a thought.
