1st Pattern 1st Class Spange to EKI

    Hello gentlemen,

I have been offered this outstanding 1st pattern Spange to the EKI. This very piece is noted on page 165 of Gordon Williamson's book on the Iron Cross of 1939. For you seasoned Spange collectors, I need to have a solid confirmation that this piece is absolutely original. From the example given in Gordon's book, it looks very good. But I still need your help...it's a serious collectible.

Very nice Robert. Here is his slightly beat up cousin.

Yes, Don, I see the same badge from the same die here. I thank you for these photos. Every detail is the same. Slightly different finishing, but still the same badge. ...edit...Or, is it the same badge, Don? I now see slight differences like in the first '9' of the date bar. What do you see different? Maybe it's just the burnishing of the piece or the lighting.???

                    Thank you again,

                    Robert

For some reason, I find the finish on Roberts piece a little rough, but that might just be the light.
I for once would like some picture without asll the "glare"
