      very nice
comparable points: right lower wing tips 'straight'
big eye, and reverse prong setup
      congrats

        Hello

You beat me to it Jon. I knew one of these had been shown recently as soon as I saw it.

As stated, a nice original item of an (as yet) unknown maker.

        Regards
        David

          Hello everyone!

You have just confirmed what I felt all along However, there is still one question remains though : is it made by an unknown maker as David says or J.E Hammer & Son, Geringswalde as according to Marcus?

I thought it was kinda agreed that it is a J.E Hammer & Son. Marcus found one in a named packet, and another was shown years ago marked 55 (although there was no pic of the mm)
            anyone?
            regards

Another question, from someone new to spanges, comes to mind: would it be safe to call it an early, first pattern piece , based on the way the prongs are attached, etc. or a second pattern ? How do you tell that? THX

this is what we generally call a 2nd pattern
1st pattern spangen have concave ends to the date box
                regards
