The reverse picture looks like the front frame does not match the size of the back which is especially obvious at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions - is this correct? Never seen that before.

Not to mention the pin extends beyond the frame and the proportions look weird!

Frankly I don't like it either, not only for the points already mentioned, but the figures of the dat seem odd, plus it appears that the swas is on a pedestal ? (might be the pic though)

Or is this one from the first run of new "65" fakes that I read something about a while back ???

There might be going on much more then we know.
I'm not to keen on all the mint "26" ek1's a,d all mint, cased B.H. Mayer Spange either, I've seen too many over the past weeks.....

            Regards,
            Ben

              Thanks for the replies gents.

Look at the front of the EK, does it show the characteristics of a K&Q EK1?

The paint, core, date, beading frame.

Not too bothered about the needle extending beyond the frame.

              What do you think?

Now there is more to this than the EK, but that's for later................

                    Alan

I think that it's weird pics of a good EK.
I can't speak for the seeminigly mismatched front and back, but there are too many obverse similarities between your cross and this one (which I have no reason to believe is bad) for me to think that your example is bad.

I got a high-res scan from Allan (just to make sure) and I can say with confidence that the rim and the core is K&Q. The "65" looks also good.

Yes...that looks correct....(these numbers area work of art in their own right !)

But is the reverse misaligned, or is it the scan that has given this effect ?

I can't see anything wrong with this.

However, the edges on the rear do seem to be beveled for some reason.
