as far as I can tell, all silver DK made by Zimmermann came in gold lined cases. I have not seen any different, (yet?)

So would it be right to assume that Zimmermann never made a Silver DK case?
If so, then who did make Silver cases and can you tell the difference?

The thing that puzzles me is that as far as I'm aware I have never seen or heard of a makers name printed on a DK case. Yet EK 1, KVK 1 and even RK cases to mention a few had the makers name on the case. Any idea as to why they didn't?

I do not believe Zimmermann "made " the cases. But they only used the gold lined ones. If you see a silver one I'm praetty sure they house an Deschler one.
You also cannot put a Desschler in a Zimmerman case and visa versa becouse they used a different type case.

Ok, the reason I ask is because of my latest find and after reading this thread it is correct to say that this silver lined case could only be for a Deschler DKiS.

You learn something new everyday in this hobby.

But my opinion is, i have seen sets from zimmerman DKiS
wiht the case whit silver line.

The mining all Zimmermann silver
DKiS wars in a gold case is
not corekt or.?

we are so often seeing many of the 20 manufactured DKis were cased by using gold lipped case.

Hello,,,well I have a 20 marked light version DKIS,,and the case is lined in sliver,,I have had about 10 yrs,,,,I think I sent pics of the case to Dietrich awhile back,,but can resend if he likes,,,,,Greg

Half the time I would wager the gold or silver band color has faded or worn so much you couldn't tell them apart anyway.
